1. Ensuring Online Safety & Supervision

Your child's online safety is our top priority. We encourage active parental involvement:

• Joint Exploration: Especially for younger users (Classes 6-8), consider exploring the platform together initially to familiarize yourselves with its features and how to interact safely.
• Open Communication: Talk to your child about responsible online behavior. Emphasize that they should never share personal information (like their full name, address, phone number, or school name) with the AI or in any part of the chat.
• Monitor Usage: Periodically review your child's activity on the platform. Our chat history feature allows you to see their interactions, promoting transparency and understanding of their learning journey.
• Secure Home Network: Ensure your home Wi-Fi network is secure with a strong password.
• Device Security: Keep the device your child uses updated with the latest security patches and antivirus software.

2. Data Privacy & Security

We handle your child's data with utmost care, adhering to stringent privacy principles. Our practices align with the spirit of Indian data protection laws, including the upcoming Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

• What Data We Collect: We collect interaction data (your child's queries, AI responses, chosen class, subject, language, and mode), and technical usage data (IP address, device type, browser). For registered users, this is linked to their account. For guests, it's linked to a session ID.
• Why We Collect It: This data is strictly used to provide personalized learning experiences, track learning progress (for registered users), and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the AI tutor.
• How We Secure Data: We employ industry-standard security measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
• No Sharing for Marketing: We do NOT share your child's personal data or learning interactions with third parties for marketing, advertising, or profiling purposes.
• Parental Consent: For any child using our platform, parents/guardians are deemed to have provided consent for the collection and processing of their child's data as per our Privacy Policy.

3. Understanding & Guiding AI Interaction

Our AI tutor is a powerful tool, but it's important to understand its nature:

• AI as a Tool: The AI is a sophisticated algorithm designed to assist learning. It is not a human teacher and cannot understand emotions, social cues, or complex contexts beyond its educational programming.
• Educational Scope: The AI is programmed to respond strictly within the CBSE curriculum for Classes 6-12. It will decline to answer questions outside this scope (e.g., personal advice, current events, inappropriate content).
• Critical Thinking: Encourage your child to think critically about the AI's responses, cross-reference information if necessary, and use it as a tool to enhance their understanding, not replace their own reasoning.
• Personal Information: Remind your child not to provide any sensitive personal information to the AI, even if prompted in a simulated scenario. Our AI will never ask for such information.

4. Content & Age Appropriateness

• Curriculum Focus: EduStarship AI Tutor's content is strictly limited to the CBSE syllabus for Classes 6-12 (subjects as listed on our platform).
• Content Filtering: We implement measures to prevent the generation or display of inappropriate, harmful, or irrelevant content.
• Reporting Inappropriate Responses: Despite our safeguards, AI models can sometimes generate unexpected outputs. If you or your child encounter any content that is inappropriate, offensive, or outside the educational scope, please report it immediately to info@edustarship.com.

5. Promoting Healthy Learning Habits

EduStarship AI Tutor is a supplementary learning tool, not a replacement for traditional schooling or a balanced lifestyle.

• Balance Screen Time: Encourage a healthy balance between screen-based learning, offline studies, physical activities, and social interactions.
• Take Breaks: Remind your child to take regular breaks during study sessions on the platform.
• Value Human Teachers: Emphasize that the AI complements, not replaces, the invaluable role of their school teachers.
• Avoid Over-Reliance: Guide your child to use the AI for understanding, practice, and doubt clarification, rather than solely relying on it for answers without comprehending the underlying concepts.

6. Parental Involvement & Monitoring

• Review Dashboards/History: Regularly check your child's usage, questions asked, and AI responses within the platform's chat history.
• Discuss Progress: Engage in conversations with your child about what they are learning and how they are using the AI tutor.
